Technical data
A rich field of nebulae and star clusters between Cassiopeia and Cepheus, featuring NGC 7635, the Bubble Nebula, and Sh2-157, the Lobster Claw Nebula. The Bubble is sculpted by a massive star's wind reaching roughly 2,000 km/s. Its seemingly simple outline conceals several overlapping shells. The Lobster Claw's curved structure is associated with the Wolf-Rayet star WR 157, whose powerful wind helps shape the surrounding gas. NGC 7538, the Northern Lagoon Nebula, the faint nebulosity of Sh2-161 and Sh2-159, and the open clusters M52 and NGC 7510 complete the scene. A pure Hubble Palette SHO: sulphur mapped to red, hydrogen to green and oxygen to blue. I only toned down the green, without aiming for natural colours: these objects work beautifully with the resulting gold and blue contrasts.
