Technical data
I'd like to share this short animation of my latest project on the Wizard Nebula (Sh2-142 / NGC 7380), captured from AstroPeak, Utah. The image is still a work in progress, but I was too curious not to take an early look at the result - and, above all, to see whether I had already collected enough signal to bring out G108.2-0.6, the faint supernova remnant located right next to the Wizard. This object was discovered only relatively recently: it was identified as a new supernova remnant in radio observations in 2007, using data from the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey, while its optical emission was first detected only in 2023. The video starts with my first image of the Wizard Nebula, captured almost a year ago with the Seestar S50, and then moves on to this new version, still very much a work in progress.
