Technical data
This image captures a wide field in the constellation Carina, one of the richest regions of the southern Milky Way, filled with extensive Hα emission, young star clusters, and active stellar nurseries. The field includes: - NGC 3579, an emission nebula belonging to the Liberty Statue Nebula complex. - NGC 3603, to the left, one of the most massive and active star-forming regions in the Milky Way, often considered the Galactic counterpart of the Tarantula Nebula. - NGC 3590, near the top of the field, a young open cluster embedded within the Carina star clouds. - NGC 3572, near the center of the image, a young open cluster associated with an extended H II region. - NGC 3532, in the upper-right corner, the famous Wishing Well Cluster, one of the brightest and richest open clusters in the southern sky. The data were acquired during the Full Moon period using the LP filter. Despite the challenge of dealing with residual lunar gradients, the 11-hour integration made it possible to reveal the intricate network of nebulae spread across this remarkable region of Carina.
