NGC 2170 is a delicate reflection nebula located in the constellation Monoceros, embedded within a vast complex of dark dust clouds and molecular gas. Its blue glow is produced by starlight reflected by interstellar dust, surrounded by intricate structures belonging to the Lynds Dark Nebulae. A remarkably rich region where diffuse nebulosity and dense dark clouds shape the stellar background of the Milky Way.
