Technical data
M51 is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Canes Venatici, about 23 million light-years away. Its spiral arms show several star-forming regions, visible as areas rich in ionized gas. Nearby is its companion galaxy NGC 5195, currently in gravitational interaction with M51. This interaction is distorting the spiral arms and enhancing star formation activity. Captured with Seestar S50, thanks to the collaboration of three smart telescopes working in parallel, reaching a total of about 17 hours of integration. Processed with PixInsight - drizzle 2x.
