Messier 4 (NGC 6121) is a globular cluster located in the constellation Scorpius and one of the closest globular clusters to Earth. Its ancient stellar population includes a large number of white dwarfs, but M4 also hosts something particularly fascinating: PSR B1620-26, an unusual system composed of a millisecond pulsar, a white dwarf and a giant planet. The planet is thought to be around 12-13 billion years old, an age estimated indirectly from the evolutionary history of the system and the ancient stellar population of M4. A quick RGB acquisition from the Namibian skies. Reference: Sigurdsson, S., Richer, H. B., Hansen, B. M., Stairs, I. H. & Thorsett, S. E.
