Technical data
Located in the constellation Triangulum, the M33 galaxy is one of the most fascinating members of the Local Group, along with the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy. It is about 2.7 million light-years away from Earth and spans over 60,000 light-years in diameter. Also known as the "Triangulum Galaxy", M33 is a spiral galaxy seen nearly face-on, characterized by massive star-forming regions. Among these, NGC 604 stands out as one of the largest HII nebulae known in the Local Group: a true cosmic factory where massive and bright stars are born. This image is the result of approximately 14 total hours of LRGBHa integration, acquired via the Lijiang Observatory remote telescope from Telescope Network.
