CTB 1 (LBN 576), better known as the Garlic Nebula, is a faint supernova remnant located in the constellation of Cassiopeia. This has probably been the most challenging object I've processed so far. The main difficulty was bringing out the extremely faint O III signal, while at the same time finding the right balance between the nebula and the surrounding space. Many stars are visible through and behind the faint shell, and during stretching their halos became particularly difficult to control without sacrificing the weakest structures of the remnant. After something like 50 different processing attempts, I think this is finally the version I'm most satisfied with. The image is an HOO composition, with more than 34 hours of total integration.
