This is, to date, my deepest image of Centaurus A (NGC 5128) captured with the Seestar S30 Pro.\n\nWhat impressed me the most wasn't the galaxy itself, but what lies in front of it. We often think of space as empty, yet the more integration time we collect, the more we realize it isn't. Faint Integrated Flux Nebulae (IFN) begin to emerge - delicate dust clouds belonging to our own Milky Way, projected in front of Centaurus A.\n\nThis is one of the things I love most about astrophotography: every additional hour of integration reveals another piece of the puzzle, bringing to light structures that previously seemed not to exist at all.\n\nThe 18 hours of integration under the Bortle 1 skies of Kagga Kamma made it possible to reveal these incredibly faint foreground dust clouds, offering a completely different perspective on one of the Southern Hemisphere's most iconic galaxies.\n\nKagga Kamma Remote Observatory South Africa, Western Cape\n\nFull res: https://app.astrobin.com/i/7s9zb4
